Life’s challenges can be exhausting and our current coping strategies can be overwhelmed. When looking for ways to get unstuck, it can be helpful to learn and practice new skills. Journeys Counseling Center invites you to Building Blocks: a cost-effective psychoeducational group workshop designed for those looking for a way to refuel and recalibrate.

Shame is the painful feeling of believing we are flawed and unworthy of belonging. On Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Vanessa Van Dyke, MA, LPC will talk about how to create a safe connection with others by building shame resilience and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable.

Join Vanessa Van Dyke, LPC, as she creates a space for women to start the year off differently!  This special building block will be 3 hours long versus the normal 2.

  •  Name the body shame that so easily entangles women's sense of themselves.

  •  Confront the myths surrounding weight, size, and health.

  •  Engage a new conversation that separates weight and size from worthiness and beauty.

  •  Explore what body acceptance can look like regardless of weight and size.

  •  Create space for each participant to give expression to her own journey with weight, body image, and the impacts of culture on her sense of self.
