The abuse of substances can be devastating for both the one who uses and for surrounding family and friends. Sometimes the use of alcohol and drugs can be difficult to identify, address, treat and fully understand.
Taking active steps toward recovery can change the course of your life.
Below are some questions you can consider if you or someone you know needs help:
Do you or hide the use of alcohol?
Have you increased the amount you use?
Are you trying different drugs for new and “better” ways to get high?
Do you miss work or school due to the use of drugs and or alcohol?
Do you isolate yourself from others? Do you have a “secret” life?
Are you hanging out with others who use or abuse alcohol/drugs?
Have you experienced a loss of interest in activities outside of using?
Is your behavior erratic and unpredictable?
Is your behavior dangerous or risky?
