Kim Chaves Scott has been in the counseling field for over 18 years. Kim’s counseling experience consists of working with individuals, couples, and families in areas of relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, abuse and trauma recovery, parenting, and family issues. Kim’s faith in God informs her practice, and for those that desire a spiritual emphasis in their healing, she values integrating faith into her therapeutic work. Kim approaches her relationship with clients collaboratively, seeking to create a supportive, empowering environment.
Kim has been EMDR trained since 2011, and is currently working toward a higher level of certification. In her work with couples, she utilizes her training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and the Prepare/Enrich Marital Assessment.
Kim spent five years as an adjunct professor at Arizona Christian University--teaching classes related to marriage, family, and parenting. She has received specialized training in the area of grief and loss and has presented on this topic at local colleges, universities, churches, and networking events.
In her spare time, Kim is a pastor’s wife who enjoys serving alongside her husband. She also practices yoga, likes trying new recipes, and going on walks with her husband and two children.
