Psychoed Group.

 

Vision & Purpose:

This 6-week series of interactive workshops will provide psychoeducation about ADHD and a space to ask questions and experiment with new ways to manage your everyday life, symptoms, and relationships. Collaborate with a Licensed Professional Counselor and your peers to infuse creativity, novelty, and fun into an ADHD-friendly lifestyle tailored to you.


Goals:

  1. Learn More About ADHD: Gain a deeper understanding of what ADHD is and best practices around managing its symptoms.

  2. Learn New Coping Strategies: Learn best practices around managing ADHD symptoms and brainstorm ways to tailor coping strategies to you.

  3. Uncover Your Strengths: Utilize a strengths-based approach to self-reflect on how ADHD manifests and impacts your life.

  4. Collaboratively Problem-Solve: Strategize and experiment with ADHD-friendly approaches to living your life in a way that is uniquely tailored to you.

  5. Address Self-Esteem Issues: Explore the impact of ADHD on your sense of self. Learn strategies to address low self-esteem or negative self-talk rooted in past experiences influenced by ADHD.

  6. Navigate Relationship Challenges: Engage in discussions about common relationship issues associated with ADHD and discover new strategies to address and navigate them effectively.

 

Support Group.

 

Vision & Purpose:

After completing the 6-week psychoed workshops, there is an opportunity to join a bi-weekly Adult ADHD support group. Alongside peers facing similar challenges, you'll find a safe space to delve deeper into ADHD-friendly strategies, troubleshoot hurdles, and foster a sense of camaraderie and understanding.


Goals:

  1. Dive Into More Depth About Topics Discussed in the Psychoeducational Group: Delve further into the intricacies of ADHD and explore advanced strategies for symptom management, building upon the foundation laid in the workshops.

  2. Collaboratively Problem-Solve: Engage in group discussions and activities to collectively brainstorm and experiment with personalized approaches to navigating life with ADHD. By sharing insights and learning from each other, members can discover innovative solutions tailored to their unique challenges.

  3. Reduce Isolation & Shame: Combat feelings of isolation and shame by connecting with peers who understand the challenges of living with ADHD firsthand. Through open dialogue, shared experiences, and mutual support members can cultivate empathy, understanding, and acceptance of themselves and others.

  4. Navigate Setbacks & Celebrate Successes: Establish a supportive environment where members will celebrate successes and navigate setbacks with empathy and understanding. By setting goals, tracking progress, and offering encouragement, the group empowers members to take proactive steps toward personal growth and self-improvement. Recognizing and celebrating achievements, no matter how small, helps foster resilience, confidence, and motivation to overcome challenges effectively.

  5. Foster Lifelong Learning & Growth: Embrace a growth mindset and commitment to lifelong learning as we explore new strategies, insights, and resources for managing ADHD and maximizing personal potential. Through ongoing education and mutual support, we'll empower each other to thrive in all aspects of life.

Group Details.

These are open groups for people who are 18+ years old. The groups currently allows for a maximum of 8 participants.

Cost for Psycho-Educational Group:

  • $75 per session for all 6 sessions upfront ($450 total for 6 sessions)

    $80 per session for “pay as you go”

Location & Days:

  • In person at the Journeys office

  • Meets weekly for 6 weeks

  • Meets Friday nights from 5:30pm - 7pm

 

Cost for Support Group:

  • $55 per session for a package of 6 sessions

    $60 per session for “pay as you go”

Location & Days:

  • Meets bi-weekly

  • Meets Wednesday nights from 5:30pm - 7pm
