Kim Chaves has been in the counseling field for over 11 years. Kim's counseling experience consists of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in areas of parenting and family issues, relationship challenges, attachment, grief and loss, abuse and trauma recovery, PTSD, depression, and anxiety. While knowledgeable in a variety of counseling methods, she enjoys integrating her faith into therapeutic work for those that desire that emphasis. Kim enjoys working collaboratively with her clients in a supportive atmosphere - empowering individuals and families in their process of healing.

Since 2008, Kim has been an adjunct professor at Arizona Christian University in Phoenix-- teaching the Parent-Child Relationships and Family Structure classes. Kim has received specialized training in the area of grief and loss and has presented on this topic at local colleges, universities, churches, and networking events.

In addition, her experience includes using play in therapy with children and EMDR treatment with both children and adults. Kim works closely with Mending the Soul ministries - an abuse recovery, non-profit organization and is a member of the Mending the Soul Professional Partnership.
