Terry graduated from University of Phoenix with his Master’s degree in Community Counseling. He completed his internship at Catholic Charities in Mesa, Arizona and is licensed as an associate counselor by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
Terry has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and has experience working with the homeless, troubled teens, dually diagnosed, and seriously mentally ill populations. His journey began as a case manager in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area where he learned how to be an effective liaison for seriously mentally ill adults. From the criminal justice system to housing issues, he has gained a wide range of experience, which has fostered his desire to advocate for his clients no matter what their current circumstance. In previous work settings, including progressive behavioral health programs in the Los Angeles area and Honolulu, Hawaii, Terry has been instrumental in program development and has promoted the importance of integrated community services.
Terry’s passion in the mental health field is helping clients who feel alone, may not know or believe they need help, or fear or mistrust the counseling process. Because of this, Terry strives to be creative and is constantly researching new and cutting edge forms of treatment. Terry also believes that humor, when appropriate, plays an essential role in healthy growth.
