Roxane R. Thorstad, PsyD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Roxane Thorstad earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Biola University, Rosemead School of Psychology in Southern California in 2000 and 2003, respectively. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University in 1996. Roxane completed her doctoral internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and served four years in the United States Navy as a psychologist. She is currently a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Arizona.

Roxane has worked and studied in the mental health field for over 16 years, gaining experience across the continuum of psychological care. She has experience in a variety of settings, including psychiatric hospitals, residential group homes, community mental health clinics, public schools, college counseling centers, and military medical facilities. She has also worked with a wide range of clientele, including children, adolescents, and adults. Roxane provides psychological assessment, individual, couples, group, and family therapy, and educational seminars. She works with clients who have experienced abuse, marriage and family conflict, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and a variety of other psychological issues.

Her graduate school education included a special emphasis on the integration of theology and psychology, leading to her interest in working with clients struggling with faith issues. In addition, through her training and experience in the United States Navy, she gained an expertise and special interest in post-traumatic responses and treatment. The culmination of these experiences has fostered a deep passion to work with those who have experienced trauma or abuse. In addition, she has worked with Mending the Soul Ministries in implementing professional support groups, providing compassion fatigue training to the Democratic Republic of Congo team, and assisting in various writing projects, including a workbook on Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. Roxane currently serves as co-director of the clinical arm of Mending the Soul Ministries, the MTS Partnership for Professional Development.
